Yesterday the light was exquisite here too, rain washed and wind swept, with that sparkle that wild storms and a long succession of gray days bring. My eyes were drawn to the sky, such an alive blue, punctuated by the whitest of clouds.
It has been delightful to see the metamorphosis between nature and you, here at Jack's Peak. Theodore Roethke's magical poetry is so at home in this blog. His words are old friends and your Light is the same for me--exquisite and generous with inspiration. Now, all that remains for me is to make my own first visit to this place which you have brought to life for all of us. Enjoy those wings on your next venture, Stephanie
I'm the author of a book of poems, Territory of Wind, a nonfiction book, Writing and the Spiritual Life and, most recently, a play, A Woman's Life in Pieces, which I've been performing in Monterey and Santa Cruz.

After all of the year's moments of teaching and learning and accepting, what tree would I give that special friend? Apple.
